Read the Spenserian Sonnets and answer the questions that go with them.

Do the Connect to your life on the William Shakespeare sonnets pg. 302 in packet.
Write at least half a page in paragraph form.

1) Every year, the seniors are accorded with a big bag of items to prepare them for college and life outside of SPA.

2) A concordance in higher level type reading is important so the reader can follow throughout the whole story.

3) I gave a cordial welcome to the new student in my house.

4) The discordant picture the teacher took from a student was very offensive.

5) The student was culpable of cheating on the English test.

6) I had to exculpate myself from the situation because I didn't want to do wrong.

7) My mother inculpated me when I was in middle school.

1. The little girl sang the note A, the young boy sang a low B, and the dad accorded them with the note E as the bass.
2. The concordance in text book allows me to find the vocabulary a lot easier so then I could answer the questions on the worksheets better.
3. When I went to go meet my friends parents, they where actually very cordial and not at all how she made them seem.
4. The only discordant comment, when they were going over the consequence list, came from the girl that always got on restriction.
5. I feel that in when many are accused the one that that tries really hard to deny it is actually the one that is culpable.
6. The diamond thief managed to exculpate himself by actually sticking the diamond in the bottom of the display case, so the cops had to let him go because he had nothing on him.
7. The police tried to inculpate the man for murder but they only had one eye witness.
8. “Tookie” Williams gave his mea culpa for starting the famous Crip gang but they still gave him the death penalty, despite the help he offered to get young boys out of gangs.

Sonnet # 30
1. I was confused about the love expressed in this relationship. It sounded to me at first like the speaker and lover had passion but then in the middle it seemed like only the speaker was in love and rejection madee his love stronger. I could be wrong but I got this ides from " but I burn much more in boiling sweat, And feel my flames augmented manifold?"

2. I think the images of fire and ice were used because they have feeling to them and are opposites. The charecteristics of fire and ice in this poem compares to the speakers love and how they affect each other.

3. I think this would be a weird relationship based on my understanding that only one person is in love and thier love grows as they are rejected.

Concordance (noun) The concordance to the book helped me understand it so much better.

Cordial (Adj) Sending the Christmas cards was the cordial thing to do.

Discordant (Adj) The banjo and the piano added a discordant sound to the other wise good band.

Culpable (Adj) The Culpable punishment seemed harsh to outsiders.

Exculpate (Verb) The defense attorney was able to exculpate his client by DNA evidence.

Inculpate (Verb) The Prosecutor said it was easy to inculpate the defendant in her interview.

Mea Culpa (Noun) The man had no choice but to read the Mea Culpa to the priest.
