Extra Credit

Please click on the link for the Extra Credit Schedule.
Please, also, note that #1,2 and 3 are all different assignments.
#1 you would do from the Holt textbook.
#2 and #3 are to correspond to one(or as many) of the works in the tables. If it's in the book, you may start tonight, if it's a packet, you may get it from me tomorrow.

The EXTRA EXTRA CREDIT is to make a GOOD media representation of one of the time periods or one of the works. Your limit is 2 representations and you need to have done either #1 or #2 and 3 in order to be eligible to do the Extra Extra Credit.

Homework 5/13/10

Period 4 & 5
1. Finish reading Act V (You will have a quiz on it)
2. Write a 3/4 page response, in proper paragraphs, comparing and contrasting your translations/understanding of the text (Act I, sc 5 and Act II, sc 2- sections 1,2,3) and the comic book version that was handed to you in class. Please understand that the comic book sections are only excerpts and that they are the equivalent to the passages from last nights homework.

Tell me:

  • If you translated correctly
  • Did you imagine it the same way
  • Which version was better (yours or the comics)
  • Explain any discrepancies you noticed

-If you do not have the comic book version, do not bother trying to do this assignment, this assignment will have to be completed AFTER you take the "Analysis Quiz" on the aforementioned passages. This also means that YOU HAVE A QUIZ TO MAKE UP!!! AND HOMEWORK TO TURN IN (though I shouldn't have to tell you, right?)

homework 5.3.10

Period 4 & 5
Find a passage from Act II or III and analyze it closely, like we did in class for the 2 passages from Act I.

Go to this website Hamlet Text to copy and paste the passage onto a word document.
Then on the right side, give your analysis. You may focus on lines, words or literary devices, but make sure to explain their significance.
