Homework 11/30/11

Periods 4 and 5 
1. Complete or Fix your essay using the peer edits you have received.
2. Extra Credit: Email me a 2 paragraph (minimum) reaction to today's presentation/discussion.
Questions to consider: 
How did the presentation relate to you?
Do you think that learning this information changed your perspective or did it reinforce previous notions?
How do you think we could get students to be liberally educated students? What would have to change in order to make sure that students were liberally educated?
Which characteristics do you think you already possess? Which characteristics would you like to work on specifically or first?

Homework 11/22/11

Period 4
I only received 5 emails. So your essay is due tomorrow.
Please be sure to have someone proofread your essay. You must also attach an outline and it must be formatted in MLA format.

Period 5
1. Email me your 3 page rough draft of your essay WITH an outline attached.
2. I received 9/16 emails. So your final draft will be due next Monday. Therefore, it is in your best interest to ensure that you have a rough draft.

Homework 11/10/11

Period 4 and 5
1. Have a printed outline of your essay. Follow the Persuasive Outline format. You should at least include your current opinion (thesis) and topics that you know will have to be included. Look at your Attacking the Prompt Worksheet for items to include in there.

2. On a piece of paper write down 4 important statements/ facts about the cultural capital analogy. Imagine that these facts would be the ones you'd choose for your multi-colored packet.

Extra Credit
Make note cards for list 55. The words will be posted on the Root Vocab Tab above.

MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR EMAIL AND RESPOND TO ME ASAP.
