Homework 11/09/09

Period 4 & 5

Complete the Beowulf Flip book that must include:
1. The 4 sections. Each of which should have a picture and adjectives from the text. (You can use short quotes or own sentences.)
a. Setting- if there is more than one setting, include them all.
b. Characters- describe characters using adj. from text and picture.
c. Actions- illustrate the main events in the episode and add captions.
d. Analysis- Write a brief (3-6 sentences) explaining the significance of the episode. What purpose does it serve? Why is it important? What is meaningful about the characters, setting, or actions? Why does it matter to the rest of the story or characters? What can be gained from the episode?

Add color for interest.

1) Jury was apathetic towards the killer when he cried and plead for forgiveness, because he felt sorry for slaughtering the little kids.

2) I have empathy for a lot of things because I being through a lot from sexual abuse to loosing a child.

His apathetic expression made me stop talking and ask him if something was wrong.

The empathy I felt for Andrea were so strong I began to cry with her.

If I was to become a coroner I would also have to study pathology to understand the human body better.

A sociopaths are very dangerous to our society and should get mental help or put in mental institutions.

After all the years of slavery African Americans can walk with impunity.

I hate getting penals during my soccer game because it stops the momentum and excitement.

Many catholics in my family, penance themselves by going to church and talking to a pastor.

My mother is always punitive especially when she's in a bad mood.

Apathetic Adj : I was completely apathetic to the women's emotion.

Empathy noun: "As long as you have empathy you'll be able to connect with others." she said

Pathology noun: The doctor studied pathology which is an important part of medicine.

Sociopath noun: The sociopath was completely destructive to the school and needed to be kicked out.

Impunity noun: The impunity the president has is ridicules and unconstitutional.

Penal Adj: The penal was completely unfair and needed to be changed.

Penance noun: The man in the Da Vinci practiced penance while worshiping God.

Punitive Adj: The women's punitive behavior lead to the children being taken away.

1. When Joe told Susie he liked her, she showed apathetic feelings towards him and he was sad.

2. I like that that we have empathy because the world would be boring without feelings.

4. One thing I am scared of after leaving San Pasqual is getting kidnapped by a sociopath.

• I don’t like the empathy people show after you’ve told them something personal because they start acting in a total different way.
• The biologist was studying the different pathologies that were common a long time ago.
• I wonder if I will ever become a sociopath when I start to get near my old age.

1) She did not know why he was ransacking her apartment but all she could do was beg the apathetic man to not hurt her babies.
2) When I talked spoke to the woman and told that I was removed from my home she I saw that she felt empathy not sympathy.
