1. Why do you think that Dating Abuse is an important topic to discuss?
2. Do you think that the reason women are physically hurt more often by males is becuase they are weaker or are there other reasons?

1. Finish Classwork (7 comprehension questions on the article in Cornell Notes style [turn-in piece of paper]) 
2. Write 5 Discussion questions on the topic of the article On the same piece of paper (staple if there are more than one) 

Period 4  
1. Read and email me your reaction the Zits packet.

Period 4 and 5 
1. Read the news article at the following link http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/02/20/chicago-school-draws-scrutiny-over-student-fines/print# 
2. Circle any words that you do not know with certainty.
3. In a turn in piece of paper that is in cornell notes style, write down the  words in the CUE column and the definitions in the NOTES column.
4. On the same sheet at the unknown words, answer the questions titled, "Chicago Schools Cornell Notes Questions"
5. On another new piece of paper, write a paragraph summary that includes: Who, what, where, when, and why.
6. Below that paragraph write another paragraph that justifies or opposes the idea of fines in schools.

ROOT VOCAB EXTRA CREDIT ANNOUNCEMENT
-Studying and taking quizzes on Root Vocabulary words will NOW be extra credit.
-This means that in addition to your Academic Vocab, you will learn another 4 words (total of 7)
-In order to be eligible to take the additional root vocab quiz, you will have to complete a STUDY ACTIVITY listed on the ROOT VOCAB STUFF TAB (above) This is an assignment to help you learn and remember the words.
Extra Credit Points will be as follows: 
Study Activity will be worth 10 points in the Participation category= 5% of your grade
Quiz will be worth 20 points in the Homework category=15% of your grade
