Homework 4/18/10

Period 4 and 5
-If you take a look at your reading schedules, you will notice that you are expected to complete assignments 1,2, and 4 by tomorrow.
- All that you have to submit by tomorrow is your writing assignment and that should be emailed to me by tomorrow at 12pm
- The criteria and details for this assignment in on the second sheet of the schedule. (The MLA handout I gave to you in class on Friday should be used when completing your Writing Assignment)
- Otherwise, you will turn in other assignments that say T.I when I return.

Look through your Shakespearean Language handout and choose at least 2 words to make 2 sentences about someone in your English class. Keep it nice and don't be rude. Otherwise you will not get credit.

Read the Shakespeare's Language handout. Highlight important information and take margin notes.
Write 8 questions that someone who's read this packet could answer. (you may email it to me or write them down)

Study for Sonnet Quiz
a.) Know the definition for the 3 types of sonnets and all of their parts and all of their "levels", etc.
b.) Understand the content/meaning of all of the sonnets. (refer to personal paraphrases)
c.) Be able to write a line of Iambic Pentameter
d.) Be able to analyze the relationship amongst sections in poems.

- Complete the following Shakespeare paraphrase worksheet.
- Check your grade in mygradebook.com.
- If you have any missing quizzes or work that you were absent to turn in, EMAIL me telling me when you will make it up or drop by to show it to me.

In your packet, at the end of each line for ALL of the sonnets, write down the rhyme scheme that you see. (you may want to use the information we seen in class, on the powerpoint)

Redo/check your rhyme scheme homework from 2 days ago, using the information from the class powerpoint.

1. Post vocab Sentences

2. Fill out the Sonnet Definition Worksheet using your notes or handouts.

Period 4 and 5 (if you didn't finish it in class)
Complete your line of Iambic Pentameter using your first or last name.
Make sure to: a.) split your name up into syllables and b.) figure out which syllables are stressed or unstressed c.) fit your name in as many times as you have to in order to make a line of Iambic Pentameter.
