Homework 11/19/09

Period 4 & 5
- Have a new and improved copy of your Beowulf Essay [TYPED]. If you did not get it back from me, improve it by whatever means. (find someone else to look at your stuff or email me at a decent hour)
- Have quotations as Concrete Details and the blank parentheses where your citation will go. We will work on it tomorrow.
- Create a works cited page to the best of your ability. I will go over this tomorrow, but you also have a few resources (Here's another one: MLA OWL website) to try to figure it out.

Complete the Beowulf Flip book that must include:
1. The 4 sections. Each of which should have a picture and adjectives from the text. (You can use short quotes or own sentences.)
a. Setting- if there is more than one setting, include them all.
b. Characters- describe characters using adj. from text and picture.
c. Actions- illustrate the main events in the episode and add captions.
d. Analysis- Write a brief (3-6 sentences) explaining the significance of the episode. What purpose does it serve? Why is it important? What is meaningful about the characters, setting, or actions? Why does it matter to the rest of the story or characters? What can be gained from the episode?

Add color for interest.

Complete your outside reading entry and write a 1/2 page about what was discussed in class and give me your opinion of the ideas that were stated. What did you think about the evidence I presented in defense of the argument? Did I convince you of my stand? Explain why.

Write a paragraph describing Beowulf in detail that brags of his accomplishments. Imgaine that you are writing a cover letter paragraph for his resume and you are tyring to help him get a job.
