  • I only received 3 personal statements.
  • If you did not give me anything, you must turn in your rough draft for both prompt #1 and prompt #2. (if you did not speak to me about the assignment I will assume you simply disregarded your homework assignment. Tomorrow's rough draft will be worth 1/2 credit)
  • Tomorrow you will also turn in your grammar packets and I will give you credit for your highlighted information on the "Flow Packet".

Homework 9/9/08

Period 4
1. Fill out the " Paraphrase Prompt #1 and Prompt #2" sheet.
- In order to fill this out, talk to yourself. Internal dialogue helps to think clearly.
  • Section 1 means that you will write the prompt in your own words.
  • Section 2 asks for you to ask yourself questions that will help you answer the prompt.
  • Section 3 asks for you to answer the questions you asked in section 2. ( These will very likely be some of your outline sections. )
2. Create an outline that
A. Explains what you will discuss in each paragraph for both mini-essays (prompt #1 AND prompt #2)
- When they are complete, Each of the responses should be about 1-1 1/2 pages = 250 to 500 words.

Period 5
1. Read the "Flow" packet
2. Highlight main points
3. Start your personal statement
- If you have already done one, check to see if it flows and if it is 250-500 words.
